Madaba, Mount Nebo and the Dead Sea in one day from Amman: which tour to choose (2026)

Updated on October 23, 2026

Madaba, Mount Nebo, the Bethany baptism site and the Dead Sea combine into a single day from Amman: count 7 to 10 hours, depending on whether you swim. On GetYourGuide, seen on 23 October 2026, the most-booked group or private option starts at about $18 to $26 per person; a 7-hour private tour without the swim starts at about $38 to $76; prices vary with date, group size and whether entrance tickets are included.

Highlights

Madaba

Madaba

The Byzantine mosaic map in St George's Church and the archaeological park, 30 km from Amman; see the Madaba page.

Mount Nebo

Mount Nebo

The sanctuary from where Moses is said to have seen the Promised Land, with a view over the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea in clear weather; see the Mount Nebo page.

Bethany, the baptism site

The site on the Jordan where Christ's baptism is placed; see the Bethany page.

The Dead Sea

A swim in very salty water, the lowest point on Earth reachable by visitors; see the Dead Sea page.

Practical info

Tips

  • Before booking, compare five points: the number of sites really included (some formulas leave out Bethany or the swim), the entrance tickets (Madaba park 3 JD, Mount Nebo 3 JD, Bethany 12 JD, Jordan Tourism Board and Jordan Pass rates, seen on 23 October 2026), the beach or resort entry on the Dead Sea (see which day pass to choose), the duration and the departure. With the Jordan Pass, Mount Nebo and the Madaba park are included and Bethany costs 8 JD instead of 12 JD: a tour with tickets included is then less attractive than a tour without tickets. A car with a private driver is the most flexible solution for a group; a rental car also works, the road is easy. Bring swimwear, a towel, water and sunscreen, and do not put your head under the salty water. To see everything in Amman before leaving, read Amman in one day.

How to get there

Hotel pick-up in Amman in general. Amman to Madaba: 30 km, 40 to 45 minutes; Madaba to Mount Nebo: about 10 km; then the descent to the Dead Sea (about 1 more hour by road depending on the beach).

Opening hours

Best: 8 am start, all year
Tour of 7 to 10 hours, departure usually around 8:00 am from Amman; Mount Nebo, Madaba park and Bethany during the day (hours to be confirmed on site)
