Wadi Mujib: the Siq Trail, Price, Season and Booking (2026)

Updated on October 23, 2026

The Wadi Mujib Siq Trail is a water hike in a canyon, walking and swimming in the water up to a waterfall; it takes 2 to 3 hours. The 2026 rate from the RSCN, the reserve's operator, is 23 JOD per person for non-Jordanians, taxes included. The trail is self-guided and, according to the RSCN, needs no advance booking, and it generally opens from 1 April to 31 October depending on the weather. You must be 18. Highlights

The narrow canyon

The narrow canyon

After the walkway over the dam, the river runs between sandstone walls; the water is cool, even in summer.

The waterfall

The waterfall

The Siq trail climbs to a big waterfall: you get there walking in the water, swimming and climbing with the help of ropes.

The Ibex Trail (winter)

From November to March the RSCN offers the Ibex Trail, a guided mountain trail of 3 to 4 hours, at 23 JOD, for 6 to 25 people.

Practical info

Tips

  • RSCN 2026 rates for non-Jordanians: Siq Trail (self-guided, 2 to 3 h) 23 JOD; Ibex Trail (guided, 3 to 4 h) 23 JOD. All taxes included. I found no mention of Wadi Mujib in the Jordan Pass: count this fee on top.
  • The water trails are closed to under-18s. You need to swim and be reasonably fit; some sections use ropes. Check the water level and equipment (life jacket, shoes) at reception before setting off, and do not go if rain is forecast: flash floods are the main risk.
  • Bring shoes that can get wet, swimwear, a towel, dry clothes and a waterproof bag for your phone. Showers are not guaranteed according to listings.
  • Without a car, excursions from Amman or the Dead Sea cost more than the fee alone: about 88 to 115 USD in a group, 147 USD private (5 hours), up to 249 USD or more depending on the package; the entry fee is included in many.
  • Combine with the Dead Sea and its hotel day passes, or with the Ma'in hot springs.

How to get there

The reserve is about 90 km south-west of Amman, on the Dead Sea road, near the Mujib bridge (about 1 h 15 to 1 h 30 from Amman). By car, see car rental. Also from Madaba and Amman. If you prefer to drive, you can rent a car for the day.

Opening hours
