Burdah Rock Bridge (Wadi Rum): The Hike, Guide, Duration and Price

Updated on October 23, 2026

Burdah Rock Bridge is the highest natural arch in Wadi Rum, on top of Jebel Burdah. You reach it by a hike-scramble of roughly 2 to 3 hours return, with a Bedouin guide in practice mandatory: count 5 hours in all from the village, including a 4x4 ride to the start of the trail. Prices of about 95 USD (advanced hike with lunch) come from listings checked in October 2026; they are not official. The site is part of Wadi Rum.

Tips

  • This is a scramble, not a stroll: steep slabs, chimneys, exposed ledges and a short section without a rope that the guide demonstrates first. A rope and harness are provided for the final section according to the main listing. You need to be sure-footed and not afraid of heights; listings advise against it for children under 13, people over 75 and those with reduced mobility.
  • Prices found: about 95 USD per person for the advanced hike with Bedouin lunch (5 hours, 3 of them climbing); about 127 USD (96.79 GBP) for a 7-hour outing with transfer, lunch and a return through the Red Valley; 106 USD for an 8-hour 4x4 day that includes a stop at Burdah; 2 days and 1 night with two hikes from 357 USD. Classic 4x4 tours often make Burdah a photo from a distance: check that the climb is included.
  • The reserve entry fee (5 JOD, included in the Jordan Pass) is almost always extra. Bring 2 litres of water, good shoes, a hat and sunscreen; start early to avoid the midday heat.
  • For the other arches and the classic stops, see the 4x4 tour; to sleep on site, the bubble camp and which tour and camp to choose.

How to get there

The trailhead is about 45 minutes by 4x4 from Wadi Rum village according to one listing; pickup at the village or camp is usually included. Wadi Rum is about 1 hour from Aqaba and 1.5 to 2 hours from Petra. See Wadi Rum.
