The 14 sites in one table

The "Entry" column gives the fee for a non-Jordanian. "Pass" means the site is covered by the Jordan Pass according to the sources read; for uncertain cases, check the official list before buying.

For fees and the conditions of the free visa, see the visa for Jordan.

The north: Amman, Jerash and Ajloun

The Roman ruins of Jerash

Amman is the entry point for many travellers, and the Citadel overlooks the whole city; add the Roman theatre and the downtown souks, see Amman in 1 day. Jerash, 45 to 60 minutes from Amman, is one of the best-preserved Roman cities in the region, and Ajloun Castle fits into the same day: see Jerash and Ajloun as a day trip.

The centre: Madaba, Mount Nebo, Bethany and the Dead Sea

Madaba and Mount Nebo combine in half a day: see the Madaba and Mount Nebo excursion. Bethany and the Dead Sea can be visited the same day south of Amman; for a resort swim, see the Dead Sea day pass. Wadi Mujib generally opens from 1 April to 31 October depending on the weather, so check the dates.

The south: Kerak, Dana, Petra and Wadi Rum

Wadi Rum and its rock formations

The King's Highway links Madaba to Petra and passes Kerak Castle, Shobak and the Dana reserve. At Petra, the official ticket costs 50 JD for one day if you sleep at least one night in Jordan (90 JD without an overnight stay); hours from 2 October 2026 to 1 March 2027 are 6:30 to 17:00. The Monastery involves a climb, and Petra by Night (30 JD) is a separate ticket. See how to visit Petra. Wadi Rum is 1 h 30 to 2 h from Petra, and the 4x4 tours and camps are compared in which tour to choose in Wadi Rum. Aqaba ends the trip on the Red Sea.
